Though the APA style does not require a list of personal communication and supporting documents such as personal journals I felt the inclusion of such a list would be a useful addition to the traditional bibliography. This list makes available to both the academic and general reader the vital links to family, colleagues and associates who have informed my research and also provides a clear and concise list of all the journals, both pivotal components of my autoethnographic investigation. Reading through the journals from the beginning of the research allows the breadth and intensity of investigation, via them, to be understood.
It should be noted that journals were commenced for many of the works in the folio but those listed are the ones of any length and/or significance.
Part of my daily regime is to write a journal. I keep one by my chair in my study and I carry a different one when I travel. I cite both (personal or travel) from the time of my sister's suicide in November 2003 – February 2004.
