The sketch notes commencing on the 30th of April 2010 but some of the work from the other contributors,
Brian Hogg and Brian West, is from much earlier.
Context For Creation
This is the second in a series of three sets for first year school band. The music is constructed from
an artistic view point that is informed solidly by pedagogy.

This work has just been published and the only reaction there has been is from conductors who played it
in a new music reading day. There was an overwhelmingly positive response to what the piece is - a
second level, first year training concert program.
Responses/Outcomes
This is the second work I have written in conjunction with Brian Hogg and Brian West. This time it was
mostly my effort to collect and organise the concert folio that this setting is. I wrote a number of the
pieces and arranged most of the others from the composer's original manuscripts or scores. I am pleased
with this musically and pedagogically.
